Ultimate Resigning Tutorials for PS3

Alright so I decide to make this big tutorial thread for all my fellow PS3 gamers. I really tried to make it simple and beginner friendly so don't get annoyed at the walls of text. I hope this helps everyone who has had trouble resigning PS3 saves. Enjoy!

I have a bunch of gamesaves for anyone that's interested.
Thanks Blakwidowstang, Slade and countless others for putting up great save files.
My Gamesaves (close)

These gamesaves work on any PS3 so just copy them on your PS3 and load them up. The saves have maxed out skill trees unlimited ammo and all challenges completed along with the story line. The saves are really meant for an end game enjoyment and to have access to items that you may want.

Lets get you the programs needed which are called Bruteforce Save Data and Gibbed Save Editor.
What you'll need
Bruteforce Save Data(Install BFSD then install Msvbvm50)
http://ps3tools.aldostools.org/BruteforceSaveData.rar
http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb50pro/utility/1/win98/EN-US/Msvbvm50.exe
Gibbed Save Editor
http://blog.gib.me/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/saveedit_r155.zip

The links are direct downloads but Bruteforce is updated regularly so you'll always be downloading the newest version.

What I show
Standard Resigning
Resigning With Just a .SAV File
Unlocking The Gamesave
Changing the Title ID/Region

Lets start off with resigning a gamesave to your account. This kind of resign is for when you have a full BLUS or BLES gamesave with all of its contents. This step is very easy and straight foward.

Open up BFSD and near the middle/bottom will be a tab called "Set PARAM.SFO as Template" You will want to click that.

Once opened go down to configure profiles and choose a profile 1-5 whichever one you want. Once you click on that it will open a window, what you want to do is find a PARAM.SFO from your personal gamesave so get a gamesave off of your PS3.

Once you find your own gamesave PARAM.SFO click it and BFSD will ask you to name the profile. I think it's best to use your PSN name.

Once done it will use your account info as the standard template when you resign a gamesave.

Now all you will do is right click on a gamesave you want to resign and choose "rebuild with current profile (partial)". This will resign that gamesave to your account and you are all done.

This method can be used on other gamesaves from other games but some games will require you to "rebuild with current profile (full)". The best way to tell which you need is because the one that you need to use will be bold as you can see in the picture above.

Now the next kind of resign is a little bit more tricky and needs to be done correctly. The first thing you want to do is get a dummy save. A dummy save is just a save you make to use as a base to resign everything to. All you do is make a new character on Borderlands 2 and thats it. If you are too dumb lol or lazy to make one I have a dummy save for you
Dummy Save: BLUS30982-SAVE-SAVEDEAD

Ok this kind of resign is when you have only the .SAV file itself and nothing else. Sometimes you'll find some people upload just a SAVExxxx.SAV file and people get a bit stumped on how to properly use it. This will or I hope will resolve any issues people have.

First thing first open up BFSD. Now you want to "decrypt" the dummy save. Decrypt all files.

Ok so keep BFSD open and lets continue. So now you have your .SAV file that you found from somewhere. The .SAV I am referring to here is NOT the dummy .SAV this one is the one you want to overwrite the dummy file with. What you want to do is open the .SAV file inside of Gibbed Save Editor. When you choose the .SAV file make sure you choose the correct format as the .SAV this can vary depending on who made the .SAV so choose each one until it opens or choose the platform that you know it is.

Once opened you want to make sure that the platform is set to PS3 if it's not already.

Now you don't want to edit the save or add anything right now you can do that later on your own. This part is optional but you can choose the save ID that you want. The way the saveID works is if you choose the saveID of 57,005 you will get a gamesave that looks like this "BLUS30982-SAVE-SAVEDEAD" just like the dummy save I supplied. Where does this come from? Well Borderlands 2 saves the gamesave in a Hex format so the saveID is converted into Hex so 57,005 is converted to DEAD. If you want to play around with this open windows calculator and set it to programmer but I'm not going to go into that right now.

After you change the saveID if you did at all you now just want to save the .SAV file but here's where it gets a bit tricky. You want to overwrite the dummy save so click save and find the dummy save I supplied or your own and save over that save. It will ask you do you want overwrite blah blah blah just do it trust me lol
Now you can close out Gibbed once saved.

Now go back to BFSD and re-encrypt the save so just click "Encrypt PFD" and choose "Encrypt decrypted files".

That is all you do if you used a dummy save from your own console. If you used the dummy save I supplied then you will need to resign that save so refer to "Standard Resigning" in the first part of this tutorial.

Now onto things you may not care about but is still very useful. I'm going to show 2 things. How to unlock a PS3 gamesave to allow it to be used on any PS3 and how to change the region of a game save

Lets start with unlocking a save.
For this you want to just decrypt the gamesave like you would normally.
What it looks like (close)

Now right click on the gamesave and you'll see a list of options. You will want to click on the option that says "Unlock save to work on any PS3 account".
What it looks like (close)

Then it will ask you if you want to unlock the save just click yes. Now the save is unlocked to a default profile but you aren't done yet. Now just go and re-encrypt the save.
What it looks like (close)

Now you are finished and the save is ready to be shared with friends or fans.

Ok this part works just like unlocking the gamesave but has a small extra step
involved.

Start off decrypting the gamesave.
What it looks like (close)

Now right click on the gamesave and you'll see in the options "Change Title ID/Region"
What it looks like (close)

Ok after clicking that a small dialog box will pop up.
What it looks like (close)

Inside that is where you will enter the Title ID of the game you are changing. BLUS refers to North American gamesaves and BLES refers to EU/AU gamesaves. I want to change my gamesave to a BLES so I will enter the BLES title ID.

For Borderlands 2 the Title ID's are
BLUS30982
BLES01684

After entering the new title ID click ok and you will notice a new gamesave was created. Now you have a BLUS and a BLES gamesave. Both gamesaves are decrypted so you will need to re-encrypt them.
What it looks like (close)

That is all, now you have successfully changed the region of the gamesave.
